Landon School, ranked 24th in the DigitalSports National Lacrosse Rankings, hosted Connecticut’s Avon Old Farms, ranked 44th on March 20.
Wasting no time in getting starting, the home team scored within the first minute when Jack Bolen opened the scoring on a feed from Sam Lynch. On the ensuing faceoff, the Bears recovered the ball, went down, and scored again, doubling their lead. That is when Avon got started, netting three consecutive goals. Sam Lynch quickly came back to tie the game at three.
The second quarter was a battle of the defenses. After going back and forth for nearly the entire quarter, Landon struck the back of the net, giving the Bears a 4-3 halftime lead.
Completely opposite to the quarter before, the third quarter was a scoring spree for the Bears. Landon netted four quick goals until Avon could find a response of its own. The Bears finished the quarter off with two late goals to lead 10-5 going into the fourth.
Landon continued to dominate in the fourth quarter extending its lead to 14-6 and taking a big win.
The Bears get right back on the field, hosting McCallie on March 21. Now with a 4-1 record, Landon looks to extend its current two game win streak.
