After dropping a tough overtime loss to 29th ranked Gonzaga on April 22, Landon School responded with three consecutive wins.
The Bears, ranked 9th in the DigitalSports National Lacrosse Rankings, first defeated St. John’s 12-11 in overtime. Next, Landon met St. Stephen St. Agnes 10-8 the following day. Most recently, Landon took a commanding 17-10 victory over Winston Churchill on April 29.
Jumping out to a 4-1 lead in the first quarter, the Bears lead through the entire game. Following six unanswered goals in the second, Landon entered the half with a nine-goal advantage.
In the third, Landon continued to rack in the points, netting five more goals. Towards the end of the quarter, the Bears rotated the rest of their 39-man roster. Churchill’s six-goal fourth quarter was impressive; however the Bulldogs could not come close to Landon’s 17-10 after the Bears tacked on two more goals for good measure.
In total, Landon finished with fourteen players with at least a point. Jack Bolen led the way with two goals. Nate Buller had three assists in the contest.
At 15-3, Landon has had an impressive season thus far, landing them in the DigitalSports’ Top 10.
The Bears have two games left in the regular season, starting with St. Albans on May 2. Then Landon wraps up the season on May 6 in a home game against Episcopal High School.
